Turkish Cup
Besiktas - 1461 Trabzon
Pick: Besiktas -1.50
Odds: 1.80
Bookie: Pinnacle
Stake: 10/10

Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas welcome 1. Lig main relegation candidates 1461 Trabzon in a match of Group C in the Turkish Cup.

Besiktas are leaders in the Super Lig, with a point more than rivals Fenerbahce but in 2nd place in Group C behind their opponents tonight 1461 Trabzon, who have better goal difference. Their clash on Sunday ended in a 1:1 draw, so the Black Eagles will be highly motivated to bounce back with a win in front of their own fans and lift their spirits before the start of the Super Lig at the weekend.

Prior to that, Besiktas were on a five-match winning streak in all competitions, scoring a total of 14 goals and only conceding 3 in the process. They have been impressive at home with 7 wins in their 10 outings in the league and the cup in Istanbul so far this season. Besiktas also have the best attacking record in the Super Lig, after finding the back of the net 41 times in 17 fixtures.
Meanwhile, 1461 Trabzon are in 1st position in Group C with better goal difference than Besiktas. However, they are sat second from bottom in 1.Lig (2nd tier of Turkish football), where they are winless since September. Trabzon’s away form is far from impressive as well, having lost 5 of their last 6 matches on the road, conceding a total of 10 goals in them. It’s also worth noting that they have the 2nd worst offensive and 3rd worst defensive records in 1.Lig.

As for team news, Besiktas have no major injury worries, whereas Trabzon will have to do without their injured goalkeeper Aydin and key defender Gokce.

The class gap between the top of the Super Lig and bottom of 1.Lig is too wide and Besiktas should be able to record a comfortable routine win tonight. We see great value in Besiktas -1.5 AH line at odds of 1.80, where they need to win by 2 goals or more for the bet to come in.

Dutch Eerste Divisie

15.01.2016
Dutch Eerste Divisie
Venlo - Almere City
Pick: Besiktas -1.25
Odds: 1.98
Bookie: Pinnacle
Stake: 10/10

The 19th round of the Dutch Eerste Divisie brings us a clash between main promotion candidates Venlo and strugglers Almere City.

Venlo are currently 2nd, 5 points behind Sparta Rotterdam and are hoping to be back to Eredivisie next season. They are coming into this game after 5 consecutive wins, scoring a total of 16 goals and only conceding once in the process. Their recent home form is impressive as well – 6 wins in their last 7 outings at Seacon Stadion De Koel.

It is also worth noting that Venlo have the best defence in the league, having only conceded 15 goals so far this season and keeping a clean sheet on 8 occasions. They also have the 2nd best record in Eerste Divisie after finding the back of the net no less than 40 times in 18 matches.

Meanwhile, Almere City are sitting in 18th place and only their slightly better goal difference separates them from the last RKC Waalwijk. They have only won twice in their last 11 games in all competitions and have 2nd worst defensive record after having shipped a total of 41 goals so far this season.

Their form away is far from great as well, having lost 6 of their last 9 matches on the road conceding a total of 24 goals in the process. In fact, the last time Almere kept a clean sheet away from home in Eerste Divisie was in February last season.

The class difference between the two sides is obvious, with 16 places between them in the table. Venlo have been impressive recently and scoring for fun, especially at home where they have scored in every single match so far this season, so we see great value in Venlo -1.25 AH at odds of 1.98, where they need to win by at least 2 goal margin.

Nimes - Clermont

French Ligue 2
Nimes - Clermont
Pick: Clermont 0.0 AH
Odds: 2.08
Bookie: Pinnacle
Stake: 10/10

Promotion candidates Clermont travel to play rock bottom Nimes in a clash of the 21st round of the French Ligue 2.

Nimes started the season with a deduction of 8 points, so they still find themselves in 20th place with 12 points. If it wasn't for it they would have been in 16th place, only 2 points away from the danger zone. Nimes are coming into this game after winning 2:0 against Brest last Friday but their overall form is not great after losing 3 times and drawing once prior to that victory.

At home they have managed to record 7 draws, 2 wins and a loss in their 10 home fixtures in Ligue 2 so far this season but only managed to keep a clean sheet on 3 occasions. It's also worth noting that Nimes have the 3rd worst defensive record in the league, having conceded 27 goals so far this season.

Meanwhile, Clermont currently occupy 3rd place in the table and are coming into this game with high spirits after winning 6 of their last 9 matches in all competitions. They have been impressive recently winning their last 3 Ligue 2 outings, scoring a total of 10 goals and only conceding 3 in the process.

They have won 7 points in their last 5 matches on the road after 2 wins, 2 losses and a draw. However, Clermont have managed to find the back of the net in 11 of their 14 away games in all competitions this season. One of the main reasons behind their impressive results is the excellent form of their forward and Ligue 2 goalscorer Diedhiou, who has scored 18 goals in 19 appearances so far.

The class gap between the two sides is obvious, with 17 places between them in the table. We believe that Clermont with in-form topscorer Diedhiou should be able to win tonight but we will go with the safer option Clermont 0 AH at great value odds of 2.08, refunding our stake in case of a draw.
